Happy New Year

So here it is, New Year's Eve, with just an hour until the ball drops in Times Square. I guess a decent resolution would be to post some stuff.

I had intended for this to be a "serious" blog, but for the nonce I am just going to post whatever vacuous and inane things that come to mind. The election is over; I can stop obsessing over that; and my Deep Thoughts on the world are mostly regurgitated from the blogs I read.

Most of my urges to write lately have had to do with driving. I am on the road a lot, with nothing better to do than compose blog entries that I then find myself too lazy to transcribe. Although I have the capability to do this at work, honesty compels me to wait until evening. I'll have to force myself until I get into the habit. I am hopeful that persistent, continued writing will improve my style.

Procrastination

Procrastination: never put off until tomorrow what you can put off until next week.

I intended to post frequently to this blog, as opposed to my previous efforts. Instead, I haven't posted at all yet. I really am burned out by the end of the day and don't have the energy to think, much less write those thoughts down. It's something I'll work on: a little self-discipline will build character.
